Airport PFAS investigation program

Australian Government’s PFAS Airports Investigation Program

Jandakot Airport is participating in the Australian Government’s PFAS Airports Investigation Program (the Program).

Environmental Resources Management Australia (ERM) is the expert contaminated land specialist engaged to undertake the Program’s PFAS investigation at Jandakot Airport. The investigation will ensure thorough, independent and targeted testing is undertaken across the entire airport site, and at potentially impacted neighboring land.

The Program’s Jandakot Airport PFAS investigation commenced in March 2024 and is anticipated to take approximately two years to complete. The investigation will be independently audited to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, national guidance and best practice. The investigation’s initial focus will be sampling and analysis on airport land to determine the nature and extent of PFAS in groundwater, and potential migration pathways between the airport and residential land.

Updates on the Jandakot Airport PFAS investigation will be available on this Noticeboard. The community can also contact ERM directly via these project channels:

  • Community information line: 1800 343 181

Quarterly updates will also be provided to the Jandakot Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group.
